Historical context: The Caramelles are festive songs that are sung to celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, on Easter Sunday. The candies had been songs of a religious nature and have become joyful and festive songs with a more popular musical repertoire. The singers carry a basket placed on top of a long rod or crossbow so that the people listening from the balconies and windows could offer groceries or nowadays, money, to thank them for the songs and the celebration of Easter. It is also typical of the Caramelles and therefore of the candy makers to wear typical clothing: beretina, red sash, white shirt and red bow. In Verdú there is evidence that the first Caramelles were celebrated in 1925, with a large group of singers. Sometimes they were accompanied by the musicians of the Gabarró Orchestra. In Verdú every Easter Sunday the Caramelles are sung, a very alive tradition.
Curiosities: It covers the place left by the theft of a previous mural with the same theme and author.
