Description
Topic: commemorative 20th anniversary local magazine Xercavins.
Elements: Different elements can be recognized in this piece, prints all of them published in the pages of the magazine. The mural, as if it were an open magazine, shows us scenes from Les Caramelles with the carrier of the basket going to fold on the balcony, a scene from the Cal Prim Concerts located in the Escarrerons and also the traditional Harvest and Wine Festival of Verdú with the most typical scene of the Gran Piada; moment when the carts bring the harvest to the Plaça Major and to the sound of the crows they begin to crush the grapes to obtain the must, while the public watches the moment in awe. On the other page we recognize the meeting of puntaires, characters dressed in a peculiar way, referring to the Ilergets who lived in Poblat Iber dels Stinclells, a black armchair, some sardanists dancing in La Santa Espina and in the lower part, the giants from Verdú; the Quimeta, the Ramon and the Magdalena, accompanied by the grallers. In the corner two football players, remembering the local team, in the centenary year of the foundation (1920-2020). In a more discreet way we find the reference to the Escolta Marinada Group, with the scarf of blue tones and the reference to the vineyard. In the mural we also find a reference to the Verdú al punt section of the magazine, which Josep M. Castelló directed from the beginning.
Style: Figurative
Symbolism: This mural represents a copy of the magazine with the pages open.
Context

Historical context: A partir de l’any 2000 l’Associació Cultural Xercavins ha publicat ininterrompudament cada tres mesos la revista local Xercavins.
