Pica timbres

Description
The “Pica timbres” are ceramic figures created by Eduard Boleda that adorn numerous houses in Verdú and other cities. These nice ninotets, about 20 centimeters high, are characterized by having large feet and have gained popularity for simplicity and charm. Placed on the facades of the houses, they usually represent characters in the characteristic position of trying to touch the bell, which has earned them their peculiar name.
Context
The creativity and humour of the “Pica timbres” have resonated widely, becoming a highly appreciated decorative detail. Its success is due not only to its attractive aesthetic, but also to the ability of these ninotets to add a touch of warmth and personality to the homes. Eduard Boleda’s work has revitalised Verdú’s ceramic tradition, showing how local art can innovate and find new forms of expression, attracting both locals and visitors from various parts of the country.
