Topic: Tribute to a man who dedicated his life to the town of Verdú.
Elements: In this mural you can see different elements that allow us to get closer to the figure of Ramon Boleda Cases. Knowledge, restlessness, the desire to know are what motivated this farmer to look for and investigate everything that referred to his hometown. You can see ceramic pieces that refer to the Iberian Village of the Stinclells, and by extension to the world of the Ilergets, you can see the Castle building, the Parish Church and the Sanctuary of Sant Pere Claver, through which he always goes show a special interest that he reflected through his publications. Music is also present, it intertwines everything, and with the written Joys of Sant Pere he reminds us that he was a member of the Sant Pere Claver Choir, the Parish Men’s Choir and a regular at the Cal Prim Concerts. The mural in tribute to Ramon Boleda Cases presents us with a multifaceted vision of life; family, service to the municipality, football, traditions and also the love and affection for his hometown.

Historical context: Ramon Boleda Cases was born in Verdú on March 8, 1922 and dedicated his entire life to the research and study of his hometown, Verdú. Ramon Boleda Cases, a farmer by profession, had a great knowledge of the territory and was a great archeology fan, in 1976 he published The Archaeological Map of Riu Corb, Sió and Ondara. Throughout his life he has made numerous publications, The parish church of Santa Maria de Verdú (1991), Verdú, from the origins to the end of the lordly regime of Poblet (1994), Verdú before and after the proclamation of the Republic (2011), The black pottery of Verdú. Stonemasons and potters (2014), Cal Trenca. A Carlist descent from Urgell and Segarra (1835-1956), El Castell de Verdú. history of a monument (2022) to name a few. He was a correspondent for the daily La Mañana, a contributor to the magazine Nova Tàrrega, and a founding member of the local magazine Xercavins. Throughout his life he obtained numerous recognitions. The new location of the Archeology Museum will be inaugurated in 2020. Ramon Boleda Collection, in the Sala Sant Bernat del Castell. Ramon Boleda Cases died on February 7, 2021.

To get there, you can take the A-2 motorway to Tàrrega and then follow the C-14 road to Verdú. You can also reach Tàrrega by train. From Tàrrega to Verdú travel must be done by taxi or on foot.
