Historical context: The town of Verdú in the Middle Ages was enclosed by a walled enclosure that gradually took shape around the Castle. Currently, some recognizable elements of the wall are preserved in the Portal de Lleida and the Portal de Guimerà, in the Plaça Major (13th century). Verdú, in the 13th century it was completely walled, fifteen towers and four portals. It had approximately one hundred fires that occupied the places closest to the Castle. In the 16th and 17th centuries, the population spread to the southernmost part, which received the name of Raval, with the second circle of walls. Again in the s. XVIII-XIX with the growth that Verdú experienced, Jesús Street, Sant Miquel Street, known as Carrer dels Cantirers, were formed. At present, the town of Verdú has about eight hundred inhabitants.
Curiosities: This mural replaces the old plan executed with tiles by Ramon Boleda. The deterioration of the tiles made the Verdú City Council choose to replace it.
