Description
Topic: Ceramic.
Elements: In a setting that allows us to identify different symbols of Verdú, such as the tower, the bell tower, the bell tower of Espadanya, the main square with the porches, we can identify several ceramic pieces that were worked on during the course, both turned pieces and relays Verdú’s ceramic tradition is a cultural and identity trait as can be seen through this piece made by professional potters and others by novices.
Style: Abstract.
Symbolism: At the end of the 70s of the 20th century, several ceramics courses were held through the PPO, worker professional promotion, and the students made this piece as a joint project, in addition to making the current street signs.
Context
Ordered: Work done during the Ceramics Course, 1976-1977.
Historical context: The Verdú City Council is a noble building of exposed stone with pillars, lintels and cut stone corners. Above the main door is the coat of arms of the town of Verdú. The building has a completely symmetrical facade, with two parallel windows that frame the main door, on the first floor there are two balconies and in the attic there are symmetrically located windows. There had been a prison in the basement. Before 1792, the facade and interior were remodeled, at which time the town’s coat of arms was placed.
Curiosities: The Verdú City Council commissioned Enric Orobitg to restore and color this mural by redoing some broken pieces, which has been displayed in the lobby of the Town Hall since 2010.

To get there, you can take the A-2 motorway to Tàrrega and then follow the C-14 road to Verdú. You can also reach Tàrrega by train. From Tàrrega to Verdú travel must be done by taxi or on foot.
